You guys seem to have picked your favourites acts from each genre, I tried to (and thought that's what we were meant to be doing) pick a perceived Top 5 in each genre. I tried to look at who is the most respected, popular, influential, important, essentially the Top 5, not my Top 5.

you're right, I was thinking this was a personal faves, not a definitive list of THE best.
